We put service users at the heart of everything we do. We can only improve our service if we understand how it is working from your point of view. You have experience of our services so are the best person to help design, develop and evaluate what we offer.

We work closely with User Voice, an organisation run by ex-service users who aims to improve rehabilitation. User Voice facilitate service user councils, a forum for our service users and staff to discuss issues and find solutions that will improve the way that we deliver probation services.

Volunteers help shape and design our services by attending workshops and focus groups to ensure the views of service users are heard. All volunteers receive a personal development plan with regular supervision and training from User Voice.

Service user council proposal:

For current or ex service users to be employed by KSS CRC as case support workers to help engage individuals on our caseload to complete their orders and licences.

Our response:

We have employed three case support workers who all have personal experience of the criminal justice system themselves, to engage offenders who are at risk of being breached.

If you can spare two or more hours, please speak to your case manager about joining the council and other voluntary roles you can apply for with User Voice.
