Research: Coronavirus and Crime

Kent, Surrey and Sussex Community Rehabilitation Company’s Research and Policy Unit has published a report about crime trends during the coronavirus lockdown.

The fact file looks at the emerging crime trends from increases in domestic abuse offences to decreases in some violent crimes.

The report also explores a new brand of criminality resulting from the recent lockdown laws.

The fact file is the second the Research and Policy Unit has published. Earlier this month the team looked at the emerging trends of domestic abuse during coronavirus.

KSS CRC’s Research and Policy Unit investigates ways to cut crime and reoffending. Serving probation officers together with former academics evaluate “what works” to support the service’s rehabilitation work.
